Russell Schertz leads Food, Distribution & Manufacturing in Omaha
The former ConAgra project manager brings specialized manufacturing expertise to the role
Russell Schertz has joined LEO A DALY as market sector leader for food, distribution and manufacturing. Working out of our Omaha office, Schertz will leverage his expertise to lead strategic planning, client development, and specialized design practices unique to the marketplace.
Schertz joins LEO A DALY from ConAgra, where he designed industrial facilities and managed a wide range of greenfield and expansion projects. He has 21 years of industry experience and a special expertise in ammonia refrigeration, automated crane systems, clean rooms, and robotics. Before ConAgra, Schertz held similar roles at Kraft and Cargill.
Schertz’s experience in manufacturing adds to LEO A DALY’s existing expertise in cold-storage and distribution centers, allowing the firm to serve clients further upstream in the food supply chain. His experience with design-build increases the firm’s flexibility in partnering with builders.
“Having worked on the owner’s side of the food industry, Russell has first-hand experience of what our clients need, particularly for facilities located in the Midwest region,” said Chris Johnson, Managing Principal for the LEO A DALY Omaha office.
LEO A DALY has 30 offices worldwide, and is currently involved in design projects for Dollar General, Target, Cheney Brothers, and Sysco.
