After a multimillion-dollar transformation, Vail Cascade Resort has been reinvented as Grand Hyatt Vail. Grand Hyatt Vail offers sleek sophistication in an idyllic setting, with interior design by LEO A DALY reflecting Vail’s rich history and the spirit of Rocky Mountain adventure. Nestled in the heart of Colorado’s picturesque Gore mountain range, this hidden gem is designed to feel like a private oasis from the outside world.

Upon arrival, guests are greeted with picturesque views framed by refined, human-scale architecture that evokes a European retreat. Once inside, mountain and creek views project all the way through interior spaces. An outdoor terrace runs the width of the hotel, connecting guests to the outdoors and opening to public areas, including The Living Room, The Jubeln game room, Gessner restaurant and Fireside Lounge. Fireplaces throughout provide a cozy après-ski atmosphere for guests to reflect on the day’s adventure and share stories with friends old and new. Creek access and ski-in/ski-out connections to Vail’s world-class terrain offer full immersion in nature.

Art collection reflects history, adventure
Throughout the resort, a collection of art and artifacts nods to Vail’s history as a magnet for explorers, and the spiritual home of the Southern Ute Tribe. Abstracted compositions in a variety of media pay homage to the traditions, crafts and character of the tribe, which first carved horse trails into the Gore mountainside. Specially commissioned prints from Brady Willette’s renowned War Pony Project celebrate the tribe’s history of horsemanship.

A collection of outdoor photography and paintings was commissioned to evoke the lifestyle of the adventurer. Each vibrant piece is set upon a neutral color palette taken from the surrounding landscapes, including gray earth tones, blue spruce and a smooth cognac brown.

The Alpine Spa offers a tranquil respite embracing the natural splendor and healing powers of the surrounding mountain and creek. The spa has a light, refreshing atmosphere, with natural colors and textures, mountain views and outdoor areas. The color palette comes directly from the surroundings – frosty white from the snow-capped mountains and warm gray from the Gore range’s exposed rock. Wall coverings and custom tiling carry the textures of glacial striation, and pierced metal ironwork gently filters natural light into the treatment rooms to create a soft glow.

The new signature restaurant, Gessner, captures 180-degree mountain views. Its palette reflects Vail’s landscape and heritage with tones of evergreen, snowdrift and cognac. A menu inspired by both European Alpine and Colorado Rockies cuisine is served in a sophisticated yet relaxed environment.

Guest rooms offer all the comforts of home and much more, whether guests are seeking a romantic vacation in a quaint dormer room, or an adventurous get away with family in a multi-room suite. Guests can open their balcony doors and listen to the lulls of Gore Creek, gaze at the beautiful aspens or just enjoy the fresh mountain air. Luxurious mohair, plush carpet and embroidered window treatments create an opulent backdrop for a collection of furniture evocative of a mountain hideaway. Furniture accents include forged iron, embossed leather and hand-tufted wool rugs that embody the collection of a world traveler and artisan.

Guests can also experience luxurious bathrooms featuring a refreshing color palette and sparkling finishes. An oversized glass-framed rain shower has three body sprays for an extravagant shower experience, while a grand soaking tub offers relief to sore muscles, or just an escape from the everyday.
