Jeffrey Monzu
As our Healthcare market-sector leader, Jeff oversees planning and design for all healthcare projects from LEO A DALY’s Omaha design studio. His leadership of the first federal healthcare P3 project, the Omaha VA Ambulatory Care Center, helped it achieve national awards for architecture, engineering and construction.
For more than 28 years, he has delivered exceptional planning, programming, design and project management expertise for healthcare projects of varying types, sizes and scopes.
Jeff has developed specific knowledge in medical-center business, operations and healthcare environment design, with his expertise being board certified by the American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA), one of only 405 certificants in the US and Canada.
Jeff is a past president for both the Omaha and Nebraska chapters of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He regularly serves as a mentor for the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, and he is an adjunct professor for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Architecture. He contributes regularly to healthcare and design journals and speaks frequently at industry conferences. Because of his dedication to improving access to healthcare for populations with unique needs and in smaller communities, Jeff was honored by Healthcare Design Magazine as the 2018 HCD 10 Architect.
“When we design healing environments, especially for small communities and underserved populations, we bring hope into the lives of people who need it,” Jeff said. “That’s when our work transcends design, becoming something worthy of being called ‘a life’s work.’”
