Education design leader Kristi Nohavec appointed to Council of Independent Nebraska Colleges Foundation board of directors
An active mentor and advocate for education, Nohavec brings education-design expertise to foundation for higher education
Education Market Sector Leader Kristi Nohavec, PE, AIA, LEED AP, has been appointed to the board of directors for the Council of Independent Nebraska Colleges Foundation (CINCF). The organization exists to provide operating funds and scholarship support for students to attend Nebraska’s educational institutions of excellence – currently 13 private colleges and universities.
Based in LEO A DALY’s Omaha studio, Nohavec leads the studio’s education design team. Kristi’s design leadership has contributed to projects such as Creighton University’s Ruth Scott Training Center and Chadron State College Chicoine Events Center. She is one of 14 individuals in the state dual licensed as a registered architect and professional engineer.
Nohavec leads active roles in the community as a mentor to college seniors and a board member for the Construction & Design Career Academy at Benson High School in Omaha among other organizations. She is also a driving force behind American Legion Auxiliary’s Cornhusker Girls State, which teaches young women how to collaborate as civic leaders and policymakers.
“I was incredibly impressed with Kristi,” said CINCF Executive Director Treva Haugaard. “I believe her connection and commitment through the work she does with [Cornhusker] Girls State will help us keep focused on supporting incoming students. Her commitment at LEO A DALY to constantly improve the higher education arena will be a great asset that is very welcome here. She is an excellent fit for our board of directors.”
