Rich is a senior mechanical design engineer who specializes in healthcare, K-12 and higher education. As a professional engineer, Rich is driven to solve problems that improve environments. The impact on real people can be as simple as the quiet, reliable air conditioning in patient rooms. He has a deep interest in the technology side of design and its capacity to help solve meaningful problems while capturing value for clients. He loves the satisfaction of designing a well thought-out mechanical system, collaborating with other disciplines and seeing a project through construction, to completion, with satisfied occupants.

In his 30 years of design experience, Rich has developed as a project leader with expertise in central utility plants, controls, steam systems and chiller-boiler optimization. He is PE licensed in Nebraska, Iowa, Florida and Oklahoma. Rich is the Mechanical Studio Lead for our Omaha design studio, working to improve standard engineering practices and further cohesiveness for the discipline. Rich is active with the Nebraska Society of Health Care Engineers. And in 2021, he is serving as an industry mentor for students completing their master’s level Team Design projects at the University of Nebraska.
